Warehouse Inventory Lead

Position Purpose: Responsible to assist in the overall operations of the warehouse with a primary focus on inventory. The Warehouse Inventory Lead will be expected to learn all warehouse job tasks and be willing to step in to any warehouse role whenever it is needed.

• Serves as backup to Warehouse Operations Manager should they be out of the office or busy with other duties.
• Assists with warehouse receiving and deliveries.
• Performs and leads special projects.
• Executes inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
• Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
• Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
• Communicates with Warehouse Operations Manager as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
• Ensures milestones and goals are met.
• Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company and ensures adherence to approved budget.
• Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse.
• Operates forklift as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends in regard to supply chain and logistics conditions. Suggests process changes if needed.
• Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
• Maintains knowledge of internal processes and paperwork, such as purchase orders, to ensure compliance.
• Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
• Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
• Performs other duties as assigned such as deliveries, receiving, etc.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Requires a general knowledge of warehouse functions and operations.
• Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers, and customers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as inventory software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

• At least five years of experience in related area required.
